The First AXIS Event Keep Chiang Mai in Your Body
The first AXIS event. Movement, breath, cold, and integration — three hours teaching one skill: how to feel when you’ve left your body, and how to come back.
- 01
Somatic Movement
Slow, precise movement — nothing like the yoga or Pilates you’ve done. You found your pelvis, your breath, the places your body braces without asking. By the end you could feel when you’d drifted out of yourself, and how to come back. That noticing is the skill everything else built on.
- 02
Breathwork
Guided breath that walked your nervous system right up to its edge on purpose. You learned to stay steady while your body told you something was wrong — the exact rehearsal for the cold that came next. By the end, most people held longer than they thought they could.
- 03
Cold Immersion
The cold wasn’t a test of toughness. It was where your body proved to itself that your mind can stay steady while your nervous system reacts. Three minutes that felt like one, or one that felt like ten — either way, you came out having felt something most people never let themselves feel.
- 04
Meditation
A short sit on the grass beside the tub, while your body was still reacting to the cold. Not to calm you down — to let you feel yourself steady while your nervous system was still lit up. Most people said it was the clearest they’d felt all day.
- 05
Integration
The close. We returned to the one word you gave at the start and found it had changed. You left with three places you can check in three seconds — shoulders, eyebrows, tongue — and a kit that holds the practice. Not a feeling that fades, but a way back you can carry anywhere.
- 06
Shared Meal
Sourdough and fresh shakes, together, before anyone rushed back to their day. Real fuel after what the body had just done — and the part where the room, quiet all morning, finally started talking. Nobody planned the connection. It just happened over food.
